All things little...all the little things

So I have been stressing about the time it's taking me to get around to posting....hold on, the babe stirs...
And that's the thing...my little thing, my Madeleine...my time is dedicated to her and while I sometimes think I have the kind of time I had before she came into our lives...I don't. Time is precious in more ways than one now. So I dedicate this post to my little Mamae and all the sweet, imaginative, little things I dream for her.

To explore all these little things, go... here, here, here, here, here, and here

Pleased As Can Be...

So the glaze firing results turned out great...now time to work on getting more/sets of these little things into production. I will also be working on printed linens...tablecloths, napkins, place mats, designed to complement the dishware.

...and so it begins

So the test tiles didn't turn out exactly as I was hoping...things were in need of refinement and so the above picture is the product of that. This is the first "Jade" plate (before firing)...and I am very happy with it. Below are the test tiles...learned what will and won't work.

Owl and Elephant

It was the top two photos that started this little wild good chase...the owl and the elephant seem like they would be perfect companions.

The elephant lamp is a Jonathan Adler design found here, the brass owl and elephant were found here and here, the sweet porcelain owl lamp can be found here and the brass lamp with elephant shade can be seen here.

My Mind Is Adrift....

In thoughts of embroidery...it may seem a little old fashioned, but these two designers really pop it up and refine the craft. Check out their work here and here.

While pregnant with Madeleine, I decided to work on a quilt to express my love and brush up on some of my own embroidery skills....can't wait to explore the hoop some more.

Here are details of my little loves quilt...

All that Glitters...

These lovely warm creations were found here, here, and here. I find myself more and more attracted to the warmth of gold and brass jewelry.

Studio MaMae

We have started working on opening up our Etsy shop...Studio MaMae.  My hope for the shop is to offer handmade products and fine found objects...some repurposed, some simply reappreciated.

The birth of our first child, Madeleine Mae, has re-inspired me to focus my work in a more creative, independent manner once again.

The purpose of this blog is to share Studio MaMae updates and progress, and to share things I find beautiful and inspirational.

I hope you find this little blog enjoyable and please check out... studiomamae.etsy.com

Warm Regards, Kathleen
